EAST Lancashire residents young and old enjoyed the sunshine as they celebrated St George’s Day in style.
And the festivities are still not over — with events taking place this weekend.
In Corporation Park, Blackburn, schoolchildren enjoyed a dragon hunt as they went rummaging through the park in a bid to find their own fluffy and cuddly version of St George.

In the Ribble Valley the mayor, Councillor Michael Ranson, was joined by his wife Janette and former mayor Lois Rimmer to hand out red roses to residents as they marked the day with a touch of class.
This weekend Darwen Town Council’s annual celebration will see a St George-themed day take place in the Market Square between 11am and 3pm.
There will also be combat displays at Clitheroe Castle and the Royal Society of St George Blackburn and East Lancs branch will celebrate in Blackburn on Saturday, handing out red roses to ladies in town.
