CRICKET stars Jimmy Anderson and David Lloyd have gone back to the drawing board to be depicted in cartoon form by England players.

Burnley’s ‘King of Swing’ Anderson, who is closing in on the record for England’s test wickets and beloved Sky commentator ‘Bumble’ Lloyd, who of course is a proud Accringtonian, are both the subject of the fun caricatures for a charity auction.

Past and present England players and members of the Sky and BBC radio teams have contributed sketches for a fundraising day.

In the cartoons, Lloyd has drawn his fellow Lancastrian Jimmy Anderson, who appears to be bearded and captured swearing in full cricket ‘appeal’ mode.

England seam bowler Steve Finn has also done a portrait of former England coach Lloyd, complete with a red Accrington Stanley football shirt.

Other pictures up for sale include Sky colleagues Bob Willis and Nasser Hussain drawn by Stokes and Jos Buttler, respectively.

Chris Jordan and Moeen Ali have drawn each other, as have Vaughan and Stuart Broad.

All 17 pictures were put up for auction earlier this week, with bidding closing next Tuesday at 9pm.

Cricket charities Lord’s Taverners, Chance to Shine and PCA Benevolent Fund are teaming up for today’s Cricket United Day, a joint appeal at the Kia Oval during the current 5th Investec England v India test match.

They have called on all cricket fans to wear blue on Saturday, August 16 to help improve lives through cricket.

At present, the eBay auction for the Anderson picture has a top bid of £188 while Lloyd’s cartoon has attracted an offer of £62.

A full cartoon of the England squad, as created by batsman Joe Root, currently has a bid of £1,020.
