THE Met office has said that Britain will bask in sunshine this weekend, with temperatures as high as 18C in some areas.
But East Lancashire deckchairs may have to stay in the shed, as parts of the county will still face showers, despite the weather being mild.
The south of England is expected to experience the hottest day of the year this weekend, a welcome change for those hit by flooding.
The Met Office said the temperatures in the North West are likely to be hotter than the average March temperature of 9C, with the average temperature in Burnley and Blackburn around 11C.
A band of rain will move across the country tomorrow, bringing scattered showers for some, but that will make way for drier and breezier conditions for most of the UK on Saturday.
