POLICE officers posed for an ‘arresting’ series of pictures featuring Hollywood movie backdrops.

The photographs have been turned into a calendar for 2014 in a bid to raise case for Derian House and The police Roll of Honour Trust.

The finished product shows East Lancashire Superintendent John Puttock, who posed as a convincing Mr White from Reservoir Dogs, and cohesion sergeant Mark Cruise, who replicated Daniel Craig’s James Bond in Quantum of Solace.

The calendar, which took 12 months to complete, was created by custody sergeant and amateur photographer Jim Saddoo.

He said: “I got the idea from two officers at Accrignton.

“I always looked at them and thought that if you put them in a suit and sunglasses, they would look like they were in Men in Black.

“I had to coax one or two people to join in, but once I explained it to them and showed them the characters, they were up for it.

“Derian House and the Police Roll of Honour Trust are both great charities, and I hope we can raise as much money as possible for both.”

Blackburn College allowed the officers to use their studio space and students from the college helped out with hair and make-up designs.

Jo Halliwell, course co-ordinator at the college, said: “The students found the work a real test of their skills but, with the support of their course tutor, they were able to create hair and make-up looks copied from the original films.”

The calendars cost £10 and are available from Derian House and Greenbank Police Station, in Blackburn.
