LECTURERS and support staff from East Lancashire colleges and university centres are on strike today.
Members of the University and College Union are at picket lines alongside their colleagues from the Unison and Unite unions.
They decided to take industrial action after being offered a 0.7 per cent pay rise.
Ashley Whalley, UCU member and politics lecturer at Blackburn College, said the rise equated to a 15 per cent pay cut over the past four years.
