Search for East Lancashire's NHS heroes

PATIENTS are being given the chance to reward NHS staff who go the extra-mile to improve their care.

The NHS Heroes campaign urges staff, patients and their families to nominate the staff members and teams whose compassion and kindness made a difference to their lives. Nominees do not have to be someone who has directly saved a life but anyone who has made a positive impact on the experi-ence of a patient.

Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust are inviting the public to vote. Hazel Richards, director of nursing at the Trust said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for members of the public to show their appreciations for staff.”

The deadline for entries is June 19. They can be submitted via nhsheroes.com

You know things are bad when they have to resort to tacky schemes like this.

Again real savings in the NHS are being missed. People who dream up schemes like this should be checked for sanity. It is an insult to the people who are trying their best to cope with cuts and poor management. Is it any wonder our local hospitals are struggling to recruit and retain top quality staff.

It is all part of the Tory game.
award one worker and not the other causes resentment and divides them.
Divided workforce won't strike.

Don't fall for it workers unite and think of a national strike.
