Youths set to shine at Lancashire awards

AN awards ceremony to champion young people who have made a big contribution to the community will be held tonight.
Lancashire’s Celebrate Youth event has been organised by the county council’s young people’s service and will be held at Park Hall, Charnock Richard, Chorley.
Six youngsters will receive awards at the ceremony.
Ali Khan, company director of Big Comedy Shop, will compere the awards, accompanied by a young person who was chosen to co-present alongside him.
The pair will be joined by three other youngsters charged with entertaining the crowd.
County Councillor Mark Perks, cabinet member for young people, said: “The nominations really show the extent to which the county is benefitting from young people being active in the community.”
