Volunteers needed to help teach hi-tech skills in East Lancashire
6:00am Tuesday 5th February 2013 in East Lancashire
VOLUNTEERS with IT know-how are transforming the lives of disabled people.
But there is now a shortage of these good Samaritans in East Lancashire.
The Lancashire Branch of AbilityNet’s ITCan Help service, a programme designed to help disabled people with their computer problems, has appealed for additional volunteers in our area.
Neville Bramhall, organiser for the north west, said: “Many of Lancashire's disabled community may never have been online and are therefore excluded from many activities we all take for granted.
“To join our team you don’t have to be a technical expert. If you are a competent IT user and familiar with computers and the most commonly used applications, you will be perfectly equipped to support the majority of our clients.”
Anyone interested in finding out more about joining the IT Can Help programme, call Neville on 01253 855268.
