A new weekly walk has been launched after a trial run proved popular.
The walk, organised by the Out and About Project, will take in the country lanes and green spaces around Coppull.
Councillor John Walker, Chorley Council’s exeuctive member for people, said: “A trial run of this walk proved so popular it was decided to launch it in addition to the current winter walks programme.
“It is free and there’s no need to book, so what better way is there to get some fresh air and enjoy the countryside round Coppull?”
Led by trained guides, the walk will leave Coppull Leisure Centre, Springfield Road, at 10.30am every Friday and will last about an hour to an hour and a half.
It will follow roads, tracks and public footpaths on a circular route out to Hic Bibi and back and will take place throughout winter.
It is suited for those people with a moderate level of fitness and will cover multi-terrain, including stiles. Appropriate sturdy footwear is required and it is advisable to take a drink and waterproofs.
