Christmas cards cashed in for Legacy Rainbow House

Staff at Discover Leisure in Coppull launched started the festive period with a bang, by raising more than £1,000 for The Legacy Rainbow House.

What started with staff at the outdoor and camping shop giving donations instead of Christmas cards turned into a fun packed evening with every member of the team charged with raising funds for the charity, with centres in Mawdesley and Eccleston, which helps children with disabilities and their families.

Raffle prizes have been donated with tickets drawn on the night and the shop also donated 25 percent from all sales to the charity. The total amount raised was £1,013.

Frances Turner, Discover Leisure marketing manager, said: “This has been a great start to Christmas, the team are really excited about the friends and family evening and are making every effort to raise as much money as possible.

“We are delighted to help in any way we can towards the fantastic work at Rainbow house.”

Joe Mawdsley, founder of The Legacy Rainbow House said: “We are extremely grateful for the efforts of the Discover team. What may seem to be a small gesture of making donations instead of buying Christmas cards brings invaluable and much welcome funds to our cause. We wish them well for their evening and hope they have tremendous fun.”
