Lights in the sky over Coppull spark a UFO alert

There were strange goings on in the sky above Coppull over the weekend.

That’s according to Simon Latham, 40, who was walking down Park Road in the village at around 7.40pm on Saturday when he spotted four lights in the sky.

Intrigued, he went to mother Margaret’s house nearby and she also saw the lights.

Simon said: “There were four lights in the sky but no noise, so I can only think they were UFOs.

“I went to get my mum and she saw the lights as well.

"At first there were four but one disappeared and the other three had formed a triangle.

"They were there for about 10 minutes then one suddenly zapped off to the left, followed by the other two.”

Sgt Kevin Mountain, of Chorley police, said: “We sometimes get sightings reported to us but nothing reported on Saturday.”

What is a UFO Alert? Are we to believe that Coppul was put on some sort of emergency stand-by?

Chinese Lanterns Guys.

Also, Will three points more than likely form a triangle in the majority of configurations anyway
? just a thought.

This story is true as i was on the motorway and saw the exact same things this man and his mum saw at the exact time too.

The lights in the sky were chinese lanterns which myself and a few mates set off at the Alison Arms pub in coppull for my mums birthday party. We set them off at 7:30 sat night and they floated up in the sky for around 20mins. I am sorry if this alarmed some people but i can assure you they were not UFO's but they are regulary miskaten for them.

Yeah, I too was at the Alison Arms on Saturday and saw with my own eyes the origins of the scary UFO! Chinese Sky lanterns were set off and the wind carried them down towards the village.

I'm loving the embellishment of them "suddenly zapping of to the left" when it was probably more accurate to say they blew to the left!!
