Van destroyed in fire on motorway near Chorley

A FORD Transit van was burnt to a shell after catching fire on the M61 near Chorley this morning.
The vehicle was pulled over to the hard shoulder after the blaze broke out at around 7am on Wednesday.
Police and fire crews were called to the scene and one lane of the motorway was closed for around two miles around junction eight, with motorists facing delays of around 20 minutes.
