Young people interested in learning more about wildlife and the outdoors can join a new club aimed at helping them discover, explore and conserve.
Chorley Junior Rangers is being launched for children aged between eight and 12-years-old it will offer hands on experience every month.
Councillor John Walker, Chorley Council’s executive member for people, said: “The outdoors is a great place for people to learn about what goes on around us in parks and open spaces.
“The activity sessions will be led by the council’s rangers and youngsters will be able learn how to do their bit for the environment.”
As well as discovering the outdoors there will be a chance to learn new skills such as geocaching (a treasure hunting game), bushcraft, looking after woodlands, bird watching and identifying creatures and plants.
Booking for the club is essential as places are limited.
