8:15pm Friday 28th December 2007 in Chorley By Gordon McCully
Thoughtful Daniel Austin (pictured), aged nine, of Duke Street Primary School, Chorley, raised £100 by selling home-made cakes at biscuits at Devonshire Road Post Office, Chorley, and buying toys with the proceeds for the school.
He is seen here with fellow pupil Emily Spear, also aged nine.
His mum Julie Austin, a counter assistant at the post office, who helped Daniel make the cakes and biscuits, said: "It was just something he wanted to do. He got his Blue Peter badge as a result of doing it after sending his letter in."
