A fortnight of fun in Chorley town centre kicks off this week with shoppers being entertained throughout the last two weeks of August.
Visitors will be able to try their hand at mini golf, be entertained by street theatre performers and record their own radio jingle.
The activities, organised by Chorley Council, are set to give people another reason to make an enjoyable shopping trip to the town.
There will be two beach cabins outside the Covered Market in Cleveland Street selling drinks and street food with fairground rides and entertainment around Fazakerley Street.
Councillor Peter Wilson, deputy leader of Chorley Council, said: “There is a really good atmosphere for shoppers in the town centre with our wide range of independent traders offering something a bit different to what you might find in neighbouring places.
“A lot of work has gone into improving the entrances to the town through things like resur- facing the car parks and tidying up shopfronts to make sure shoppers have a good impression of our town and having fun entertainment will hopefully add to that. The focus of the activities will be in Fazakerley Street where we will have a number of stalls and fairground rides and some of the entertainment will move around town.”
On Thursday, August 21 there will be mini-golf and The Demonstrators wandering street theatre.
Friday, August 22 there will be a DJ and record your own radio jingle at Market Walk shopping centre.
On Saturday, August 23 facepainting will be on offer and on Tuesday, August 26 Lancashire Hawks will be in town.
On Thursday, August 28 there will be exotic bugs and Saturday, August 30 a surf simulator and facepainting.
