A primary school is bursting with future interior designers after three pupils took home first, second and third places in a recent design competition.

Organised by Stewart Milne Homes, the design-a-room competition invited schools in the Chorley area to use their creativity to create their dream bedroom.

Charnock Richard Primary School pupil Lola Williams, four, was the lucky winner with her butterfly-inspired room.

Lola’s design will be transformed into reality in one of Stewart Milne Homes’ Farrington Park showhomes at Buckshaw Village.

An additional prize of £100 worth of art supplies was gifted to young Lola along with a further £250 of supplies for her school.

Simon Bennett, sales and marketing director for Stewart Milne Homes and Catherine Ogilvie of Show Business Interiors had the difficult task of judging the competition and deciding on a winner.

Simon said: “All entries were extremely creative and shows the high level of creative talent we have here in Chorley.

“At Stewart Milne Homes we take great pride in the design of our properties and Lola’s room will fit perfectly into our Farrington Park showhome.”

Despite only advertising for a first place prize, the competition received so many great entries, judges felt it was only right to award a second and third prize.

Runners up Holly Eva, nine and eight-year-old Oliver Rawsteron were also pupils of Charnock Richard Primary and both received £20 of art materials.

Catherine Ogilvie of Show Business Interiors and her creative team are now in the process of taking Lola’s design from paper to reality. Once it is completed Lola will be invited to the showhome and will be the first to see the makeover.
