Tenants of Chorley Community Housing (CCH) who do not pay their rent will face bigger legal bills from this month.

Fees for issuing eviction notices to social tenants are to increase by 150 per cent to £250 from last week.

The increase will mean that tenants of CCH who fall behind with their rent and who are issued with legal proceedings will be liable for even more costs. The court fee for online notices seeking possession proceedings in a county court will increase from £100 to £250, with the fee for paper claims rising from £175 to £280.
