Chorley residents convicted of benefit fraud

Three Chorley residents have been convicted of benefit fraud after claiming more than £11,000 between them.

Linda Lord, 54, of Harrison Road, was found guilty after claiming around £5,000 in housing and council tax benefits she was no longer entitled to. Lord, who has two previous convictions for benefit fraud, was given a two-month curfew order.

Sean Bowe, 43, of Keepers Wood Way, claimed more than £3,000 in housing benefit after failing to declare he had returned to work. He was fined £240.

Donna Bunney, 33, of Mendip Road, Clayton-le-Woods, was found guilty of claiming in excess of £3,000 in housing benefit, council tax benefit and employment and support allowance. She was given a two-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs.
