Naked calendar raises funds for Chorley charity
6:00am Friday 6th December 2013 in Chorley
Kind-hearted staff at a Chorley motor dealership got their kit off to raise money for a charity that helps people with learning difficulties.
Brave workers at the Chorley Group’s Nissan dealership in Ackhurst Road defied the plunging temperatures to bare all for a tongue-in-cheek ‘Chippendales’ inspired calendar.
The new calendar, which features staff from all five of the Chorley Group’s North West branches, was the brainchild of the firm’s finance director Hilary Nicol.
And every penny raised from sales of the ‘cheeky’ publication will be donated to Chorley MENCAP, which helps people with a learning disability to change laws, challenge prejudice and live their lives as they choose.
Managing director Andy Turner said: “This all started in August when Hilary, our finance director, had a light bulb moment: ‘Let’s do a naked calendar for charity’ she suggested.
“I thought our staff would run a mile at the prospect of getting their kit off, but when they discovered it was all in the name of a good cause, they were only too keen to help.
“We ended up with more than 20 not-so-willing volunteers – including a bodybuilder and past winner of ‘Mr Chorley’.
“The photo shoots took place over a couple of days at all five of our branches, and featured members of staff from every area of the business.
“Everyone really got into the spirit and played up for the camera. In fact, I think it’s fair to say some secretly fancied themselves as naked pin-ups.”
Liam Deans and Stephen Hall, who work in the valeting department at the firm’s Chorley branch, are featured in the month of August washing a Nissan Juke.
Hilary said: “Fair play to all of our staff for agreeing to bare all for the calendar.
“Chorley MENCAP is a cause that is very close to our hearts and hopefully this will help to raise some much needed funds.”
The calendars are on sale at Chorley Group branches for £5.
