Chorley's oldest social housing tenant dies aged 102

A WOMAN who was thought to be the oldest social housing tenant in Chorley has died at the age of 102.
Elizabeth Banks moved into her home in Gloucester Road with her husband when the property was first built in 1968.
She died last week, leaving her daughter Eileen, who lives on Eaves Lane in Chorley, as her only surviving relative.
She said: “I remember that when she first moved into the house in Gloucester Road it was just a dirt road outside.”
Richard Houghton, Chorley Community Housing director of operations, said: “We are sorry to learn of Mrs Banks’ death and our thoughts go out to her daughter.
“Along with her late husband, Mrs Banks clocked up a remarkable 45 years as a tenant.”
