Property developer selected as Chorley parliamentary candidate

A PROPERTY developer has been selected by Tories in Chorley to run for parliament in the constituency at the next general election.

Rob Loughenbury, 30, is married with two children, lives in the North East.

He is moving to Greater Manchester to start a new job in the property development sector and is a school governor, an amateur rugby player and a practising Roman Catholic.

His background is in academia and politics.

He said: “I am excited to have been selected. This week I plan to start knocking on doors to listen to the concerns of residents.”

Mr Loughenbury will be vying for the seat against Labour’s Lindsay Hoyle, who has held the seat since 1997.

In 2010, he won with a majority of 2,600.
