Know your rights on Christmas presents

Trading standards bosses have reminded consumers on their rights when buying Christmas presents and other goods.

Lancashire’s head of trading standards Paul Noone said that in certain circumstances customers were entitled to money back or to request a replacement.

He said: “If you have bought an item that isn’t of satisfactory quality or isn’t fit for purpose, you would be entitled to a full refund.

“If you do find a fault, you should contact the retailer as soon as possible as delaying may mean losing the right to a refund.”
