A new Neighbourhood Watch scheme was launched in Adlington this week.
Margaret Rushton, Crime Prevention Officer at Lancashire Police said: “Adlington has a strong community spirit with many residents in the area having lived there all their lives.
“The addition of a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme will only help to bring the community closer together and make a real contribution to the safety and well-being of the area.”
Inspector Alison Harris, who is responsible for policing in Adlington, added: “We would encourage everyone to take all necessary precautions to protect their home and personal property and to look out for each other."
Adlington Neighbourhood Watch was launched during Not in My Neighbourhood Week, a nationwide initiative to encourage people to make their communities safer.
