Detectives have been given extra time to question four people as they continue a murder inquiry after a man’s body was found near Chorley.
John Paul Bennett’s burnt remains were found by a dog walker in a field close to Highfield Road North, Adlington, at 10am on Friday morning.
Police have been given an extension until 6pm today to question four people who were arrested on Friday evening.
A number of properties, including one close to the grim discovery and a house on The Avenue, Adlington, have been searched by police.
A post-mortem examination found that Mr Bennett, 30 who lived in Chorley, had suffered severe blows to the head.
Four people being questioned are, 26-year-old woman and man 34, from Chorley and two men from Leyland aged 52 and 55.
