STEWART Milne Homes officially opened its new Douglas Meadow development in Adlington with support from the Mayor of Chorley, Cllr Doreen Dickinson.

Assisted by Honorary Town Crier Roland Hailwood, Mayor Doreen Dickinson cut the ribbon to officially open the site and welcome house-hunting families.

After viewing the homes, visitors were invited to take part in a family fun day in the open park and play area at Douglas Meadow, allowing them to meet others in the community and spend time together.

Chorley favourites Frederick’s Ice Cream were also on hand to provide refreshments.

Lynne Vogel, sales manager at Stewart Milne Homes, said: “It is exciting to finally welcome the new community to Douglas Meadow. It was a fantastic day and I’d like to thank everyone who was involved for making it a great success."

The first phase, which is due to be completed by summer 2017, consists of 83 homes .
