Flower displays will brighten up unheralded corners of a village after financial support for new containers.

Chorley Community Housing has funded planters in Adlington.

The planters are looked after by the Adlington in Bloom group which received funding earlier in the year from the neighbourhood fund to create new planted areas at various locations.

Jeanette Lowe of the Adlington in Bloom group said: “The sponsorship money has enabled us to carry on brightening up areas of the community which can sometimes get overlooked.”

The planters can be seen all around Adlington and are filled with plants to enhance the area.

Samantha Hornsby, neighbourhood development officer at CCH said: “It’s great to see the planters looking so good.

“The Adlington in Bloom group work really hard throughout the year and their work lifts the spirit of the community by creating a sense of pride in the area in which they live.”
