Credit union set to open Chorley branch
10:27am Thursday 6th September 2012 in News
Chorley’s first credit union has opened in the town centre.
Unify Credit Union will open the branch in Chorley Council’s Union Street offices following a surge in demand for their services.
The move has been supported by the council, which says it will mean people can save more easily and offer a safe place to get low cost loans.
Unify is a financial co-operative, owned and controlled by its members who use its products, supplies or services.
General manager Angela Fishwick said: “Membership is open to anyone who lives or works in Chorley. The decision to open a branch in Chorley is due to an increased demand for our services. This will mean that people who join can save with us more easily and not have to travel to our offices in Wigan.”
In addition to this, Unify insures members’ savings and loans, at no cost to the member.
The office will be open Wednesdays between 10.30am and 2pm.
