Tributes to Chorley man killed on M6

TRIBUTES have been paid to a Chorley man who was knocked down and killed by a vehicle on the M6.

Craig Robinson, 31, from Clayton le Woods, died in the early hours of Saturday, February 4.

Police said a silver Ford Focus travelling southbound of the motorway, near junction 29, struck Mr Robinson who was in the carriageway.

Mr Robinson, who worked at Halbro Sportswear in Horwich, was single and had no children.

His mother Shirley Dewhurst, 53, said: “Craig was my only boy of three children, he was a private person.

“He had a fantastic sense of humour, and he always joked that he got it from me.

“Craig loved listening to music, and his favourite type of music was R&B and hip hop, due to this he had been to several concerts to see the likes of 50 Cent, and Snoop Dog.

“His hobby was walking, he was also a secret wrestling fan and supported Manchester United.

“I miss him so much despite him being 31, he will always be my baby.”

Police said it was still unclear why Mr Robinson was in the carriageway and an investigation is underway to establish the circumstances but it is not thought that any other vehicles were involved.

A police spokesperson said: “Although the motorway will have been rather quiet at that early time in the morning, if you were in the area at the time and saw something I would urge you to do so by calling us on 101.”
