IT MAY not come up as a category on Eggheads, but magistracy past and present is the theme of three special quizzes to be held in libraries in the Chorley area.
Justices of the Peace Jeanne Kenyon and Michael Emery, from Magistrates in the Community, will host the quizzes, which will be in a similar format to Who Wants to be a Millionaire.
No previous knowledge is needed and there will be prizes for the winners.
The Chorley Magistrates in the Community team was set up in 2009 and aims to raise awareness of the work of the magistrates' courts and increase public confidence in the system, together with encouraging a wider range of people to become magistrates.
The quizzes will be held at: Adlington Library on September 14, 10am, call 01257 480525; Clayton Green Library on October 14, 2pm, call 01772 321820; Euxton Library on October 19, 10am, call 01257 265430. Admission is free but booking is essential.
