Police have appealed for witnesses following the death of a Chorley man struck by a van.
Carl Green, 45, died after becoming trapped under the white Citroën van as he was walking close to the entrance of the Odeon Cinema, Portway, Preston.
The incident happened at around 12.40pm on Tuesday.
Mr Green was freed by firefighters using airbags to raise the vehicle as paramedics treated him at the scene.
He was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital but died shortly after arrival.
Sgt David Brown, from Preston police said: “I would appeal for anyone who was in the area at the time and who witnessed something to come forward and contact us.
“The incident happened off the road, near to the entrance to the cinema.”
A 35-year-old man from Colwyn Bay was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
He has been released police bail until October 5.
