MY 13-year-old Rovers season ticket holder son leapt for joy at the headline "Smoking is offside say clubs" (LET, December 1). "Have they banned smoking in the CIS stand at Ewood Park at last?" he asked me eagerly.
With bated (smoke-free) breath, we scanned with article.
But on closer inspection, it seems the Rovers only support a ban on smoking outside the grounds of hospitals.
They're not bothered about the lungs inside Ewood Park.
"No, sorry lad. You, your sister and your dad will still have to sit and breathe in the second-hand smoke of others around you for two hours on Saturday."
Oh, the irony.
