A 26-year-old woman from Burnley has been charged with driving dangerously by tapping a text message into her mobile phone while speeding at up to 90 miles per hour.
Faye Taylor is alleged to have veered back and forth across both lanes of the A9 dual carriageway as she used the mobile phone text system.
She is accused of driving erratically and at speeds varying between 40 and 90 miles per hour on the northbound carriageway.
It is alleged that on September 3 she drove dangerously on the Stirling to Perth road and almost crashed into several cars.
Taylor, of High Street, Burnley, is alleged to have driven too close to other vehicles while using a hand-held mobile phone to text.
She did not appear at Perth Sheriff Court and the case was continued without plea until later this month.
