A Chorley town centre business is putting in a Spec-tacular effort for our Tins and Toys Appeal this Christmas.
Specsavers Opticians, Chapel Street, has come on board to help boost the appeal, which like last year, is in aid of Chorley Women's Refuge.
The store has offered to act as a drop-off point for the appeal and is now urging kind-hearted readers to pop in with their generous donations.
Edwin Shield, director of the Chorley store, said: "Staff at Specsavers are 100 per cent behind this local appeal which helps put back happiness into the lives of women and their children who have suffered at the hand of abusive husbands and partners.
"We are absolutely delighted to become a drop-off point for readers wanting to donate.
"All we ask is that gifts are new and unwrapped and tins and perishable foods are well within their sell by date.
"Please be generous and help us make Christmas for these families a happier one."
The appeal has snowballed since it was launched just a few weeks ago. But we knew it would, because you, our loyal and caring readers, have never let us down with our appeals in the past.
It is now entering its final couple of weeks and we're asking for one big push from you all. Donations of new and unwrapped gifts, toys and tinned/non perishable foods, within their sell by date, can be made at the Citizen's offices, 45-47 Pall Mall, Chorley, or at Specsavers, now, too.
