THE village of Chapeltown will soon have a plaque to mark its selection as Best Kept Small Village of 2005.
Blackburn with Darwen Council has agreed to provide the village conservation society with £400 to put up the commemorative plate in the village's Centenary Garden.
Chapeltown residents were blooming with pride in September after being named one of the winners of the Lancashire Best Kept Villages contest.
The society had entered the village for the past seven years and their hard work finally paid off after they previously came third from last.
Local villagers Gwen Franklin, who tended the village garden, and Betty Holden, for her hanging baskets, were singled out for thanks.
