THE top music festival in the Ribble Valley kicks off with a launch concert tonight.
The Goldberg Ensemble will take to the stage at St Wilfrid's Church, in picturesque Ribchester, for the launch of this year's Ribchester Music Festival.
The event has gone from strength to strength since being started by former Ribchester vicar Andrew Hindley five years ago.
This year's event, from July 1 to 5, will include a host of international performers, as well as jazz, art and music workshops, poetry and street-theatre.
Tonight's concert, at 7.30pm, includes works by Gade and Mendelssohn, as well as the sextet from "Capriccio," by Strauss. For details call: 01254 878881.
