THE man accused of murdering Preston student Janet Murgatroyd will be home in time for Christmas.
Magistrates agreed to allow Andrew Philip Greenwood, 25, to spend December 24-28 with his family.
The descision was made at a hearing in South Ribble Magistrates Court, in Leyland, on Monday, where magistrates made a number of conditions to the bail order.
As well as conditions of residence, Greenwood, of The Maltings, Penwortham, was told that he could not enter the Penwortham area and had to adhere to a strict curfew 8pm-8am.
He was also barred from entering any licensed premises and instructed not to consume any alcohol while released on bail. His solicitor John O'Donnell agreed with the conditions and said his client would be allowed to leave the bail hostel to spending the Christmas period with his mother and two sisters.
Greenwood is accused with the murder of 20-year-old Janet, whose battered body was found dumped on the banks of the River Ribble three years ago.
The case was adjourned until Monday, January 10.
