LYTHAM ST ANNES 1ST XI 4 ALDERLEY EDGE 0

PLAYING on the Ansdell Arena, LSA returned to their winning ways to put them back amongst the league leaders. An inch perfect pass from Peter Dodds found Dave Robbins on the circles edge who coolly slotted the ball home after only about four minutes play. That set the tone of the game in Lytham favour despite the oppositions determination and Craig Nuttall added a second goal mid-way through the half. Then just before half-time Robbins split the defence finding Ian Brown just inside the circle. He powered the ball home under the diving goalkeeper. The second half saw LSA continue to dominate although Daffyd Jones in goal made several excellent saves. Man in form Craig Nuttall put the result beyond doubt scoring his second of the match.

LSA 2ND XI 0 WINNINGTON PARK

LYTHAM battled hard against the top-of-the-table team with the younger players really sticking to their task. Danny Horne in the LSA goal pulled off some excellent saves and was the best player on the pitch. Richard Isherwood had a fine shot saved but LSA really had few chances and remained very satisfied with a 0-0 result.

LSA 3RD XI 0 BOLTON 3RD XI 1

ONE single goal to Bolton, scored just after half-time, separated two very even sides who had few scoring chances. Mike Muschamp and Stuart Howard marshalled a strong defence, while Masten Bouckley and Rob Davis stood out in midfield. A disappointing result which so easily could have gone the other way.

LSA 4TH XI 1 BOLTON 4TH XI 4

LSA's most successful team so far this season were brought back to base with a large bump by a confident Bolton team. They would have been more than 2-0 down at half-time had not Joe Craig in goal made several excellent saves. LSA went further behind after half-time before David Burns gained a consolation goal. LSA BADGERS 0 URMSTON 1

LSA were unlucky to lose a very evenly matched game. Matthew Patterson was beaten only once on his debut match in goal, while Jonny Robinson showed that size doesn't count by nutmegging a senior defender on more than one occasion. Neil Mallieu came close with shots that beat the keeper only to be cleared off the line by a defender.

LYTHAM LADIES 1ST XI 0 GARSTANG 1ST XI 3

DESPITE putting together a number of strong attacking moves Lytham were unable to score and it was the visitors who opened their account following a penalty corner. Garstang then defended well preventing Lytham from equalising and then going further ahead before half-time. Kim Sharples and Karen Lowe tried desperately to put Lytham on the scoresheet without success and Garstang stretched their lead to 3-0 before the final whistle.

LYTHAM LADIES 2ND XI 4 LONGRIDGE LADIES 1

ANOTHER great performance by Lytham, with their captain Jo Martyn Clark giving them an early lead. Lytham took control with some excellent midfield play by Brenda Lanigan and Sue Wood. Janet Shaw scored the second and after half-time Jo Martyn Clark added her second. Lisa Griffin scored the final goal for Lytham after receiving a well struck ball from Lanigan. All told a very satisfactory result.
