ALMOST 80 per cent of the worlds disabled children live in developing countries.

Their plight is not one we can ignore. It will not go away on its own.

Unless we take action, the lives of people with disabilities will not get better.

Right now, we have the opportunity to bring about change on a similar scale for children with disabilities throughout the developing world. But we need your help to make that happen.

VSO is an international development charity that works through volunteers.

All over the world, VSO volunteers are helping train and advise local colleagues on working with children with disabilities.

In Kenya VSO volunteers have already helped 1,400 disabled children to go to school.

Their work has made such an enormous impact that it is being extended throughout Kenya, reaching tens of thousands more children and teachers.

In Macedonia, in just five years, VSO volunteers helped turn a run-down residential institution for children and adults with learning difficulties into a model of modern educational provision.

These professionals are committing two years of their time to help some of the poorest people in the world but without the money to send them overseas their work could be at risk.

It costs just £5.25 to support a volunteer for one day so for every £25 donated today a volunteer can work for another week.

With your support we can give disabled children in the developing world a chance.

If you receive an envelope from VSO this week, please read it and give as much as you can afford.
