The biggest stars of Indian cinema performed for an audience of over 10,000 fans from across the world at this year's Samsung IIFA Awards
Nostalgia and superstardom created a heady combination as charismatic superstar -Shahrukh Khan compered the spectacular awards ceremony, with Karan Johar and Fardeen Khan.
The IIFA weekend in Amsterdam reached its zenith with the Grand Finale - the Samsung IIFA Awards ceremony, which witnessed performances by the likes of Aishwarya Rai, Salman Khan, Malaika Arora Khan, Amrita Arora, Esha Deol, Isha Sharwani, Shahid Kapoor- Kareena Kapoor, the star cast of film Chocolate and international pop sensations Bombay Rockers and Rouge. The grand finale performance was Abhishek Bachchan's first ever international performance. He was joined on stage by Aishwarya Rai and as a special surprise by his father Amitabh Bachchan.
The IIFA weekend also featured a host of exhilarating events like the FICCI-IIFA Global Business Forum, the IIFA Film Festival, the star studded IIFA Foundation Celebrity Cricket Match and the IIFA World premiere of Parineeta.
Launched five years ago at the Millennium Dome, London, the presentation ceremony has grown into a four-day extravaganza the IIFA Weekend - showcasing the best of Indian cinema and providing a platform for interaction with global media.
