Nearly £2.5 million is to be invested on building 195 new homes in Chorley.
In total, £83 million is being spent across England to get more than 5,700 new and affordable homes built.
Schemes in Chorley agreed are Cedar Walk, earmarked for 87 homes costing £995K and 58 homes at the Lex site near Pilling Lane Chorley, for which £836K has been set aside.
The final local scheme is Rivington View, Chorley, where 50 homes will be built costing £580K.
The Government cash is designed to get struggling house-builders building homes again, safeguarding over 1,700 jobs.
Those receiving funding must also provide apprenticeships and opportunities for local workers.
The minister has already given 141 projects, mothballed by the recession, cash to get back on track and workers are back on site on many of these.
Developers receiving cash this week have committed to get workers back on site by this time next year, with almost a quarter saying they will have workers back on site by the end of the month.
The financial support for developers comes on tough terms, with much of the money expected to be repaid within five years.
Minister for the North West Phil Woolas said: “Kickstart is providing a great boost for the home building industry in our region and for the many families here looking for affordable homes.”
