Stroke charity wants people to 'Go Ape'

A stroke charity is appealing for people to awaken their spirit of adventure with a tree top challenge at a new activity centre near Chorley.

The Stoke Association is holding the event at Go Ape, at Rivington Pike, on Saturday October 3.

Go Ape is an adrenalin-inducing activity that gives participants the opportunity to climb trees, slide across high wires, crawl through tunnels, cross rope bridges, walk the plank and zip-slide down to the ground.

Rebecca Owen, from The Stroke Association, said: “The event is a great way to spend a day and do something positive. It’s also a fantastic opportunity for team-building, family reunions or stag or hen outings.

“All money raised will go to benefit The Stroke Association, which works towards a world with fewer strokes, and where those who are affected by stroke get the help and support they need.”

Registration is £10, and participants must raise a minimum of £85 in sponsorship. For more information, or to sign up, call 0161 745 8222.
