Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat comes to Preston in November and 40 local children are required to join the production and form the choir which plays an integral part of the show.
Open auditions for these places will be held at the Charter Theatre, Preston, on Sunday, July 12 from 10am.
Those interested should be aged between six and 14 years, either boys or girls, (although boys must have unbroken voices).
Some experience of harmony is useful, but not essential.
Those chosen will need to attend weekly rehearsals in Preston.
Commitment and discipline on the week of the show (10-15 November) is vital due to stage rehearsals and performances on alternate days. Two or three half days would be required off school.
The choir is onstage throughout the two hours of the show, so good concentration is needed, but this involvement throughout also ensures this is a very special way to experience a professional production.
Over the years, more than 300,000 children have been involved in productions of Joseph.
Some have even reappeared a few years later and joined the show as part of the main company. Those wishing to audition, and fulfilling the criteria, should come to the Charter Theatre on Sunday, July 12 at 10am.
