A TEAM of Claret crooners is being called upon to help record a new tune to be played around the terraces on match days.

Burnley FC have appealed for fans to turn up in good voice to Turf Moor on Friday to help record the new tune, which will be played later this season.

The song has been written by two fans and around 100 supporters are needed to sing on the backing track to the song which is set to be recorded next month.

Burnley FC communications manager Darren Bentley said: “A fan wrote this song with the club in mind. It is a great tune that deserves a wider audience.

“However, we think it’s only right that the Turf Moor roar is in there somewhere and the artist was at the ground on Saturday to record the crowd in full voice.

“We want fans to play their part by recording backing vocals and that’s why we have decided to throw open the stadium doors on Friday to anyone who wants to join in.”

The club said fans could be of any age but should dress for a matchday as their efforts are to be filmed for the music video to accompany the track.

Anyone interested in taking part should ring 01282 704701, or e-mail info@burnleyfc.com, with ‘BFC SONG’ in the subject line.
