Police officers have recovered a car, leaving the owner out of pocket, after it was blocking a footpath in Leyland.

People living in the Worden estate have complained about people parking during restricted parking times, making it difficult to access their properties or walk along pavements.

The car was spotted today (November 7) and was blocking the footpath, which would force a wheelchair user or a person with a pram to go onto the road.

The car was recovered by police at the cost of the owner.

A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: “Residents of the Worden Estate have complained regarding people parking within the restricted parking times making access difficult to their properties.

“Today officers attended a car completely blocking the footpath which would force a wheelchair user or a person with a pram onto the road.

“The car was recovered by the police at the cost of the owner. Please don't park blocking footpaths or in restricted areas.”
