A woman was taken to hospital after a two car crash at a local beauty spot.
The crash happened on Bolton Road, Anderton, between Rivington Lane, Adlington and Squirrel Lane, Horwich.
Emergency services shut the road just before 2.30pm causing queuing traffic in the area.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "It was a road traffic collision on Bolton Road, Anderton.
"Call came at 2.26pm, it was a collision between two cars.
"A woman from one of the vehicles was taken to hospital for treatment."
The road was reopened at around 5pm.
