CHORLEY manager Tony Hesketh insists his Magpies side should be proud of their run to the Lancashire FA Trophy final - despite getting beat 4-1 by Southport on the night.
The Magpies were underdogs for Wednesday's final at Lancashire FA's Leyland headquarters and, despite a brave attempt, could not oust the Blue Square North Sandgrounders.
But, ahead of tomorrow's long trip to Garforth Town, Hesketh said: "It was a magnificent achievement for everyone concerned to get to the final, and the players should be proud of getting there.
"The players were a bit flat in the dressing room afterwards, but then they gave themselves a round of applause for what they had achieved.
"It was quite instinctive, but it was a show of faith between the lads to keep their heads up."
Chorley travel to Garforth with Daniel Douglas-Pringle (virus) out, while midfielders Chris Brookes and Mark Drew (ankle) are rated 50-50.
Gavin-Lee Ellison and Kieran Fletcher are also suspended.
