A CAR fire in Leyland is believed to have been started deliberately

Crews from Bamber Bridge, Leyland, Chorley and Tarleton were called to an incident at 11.15pm on July 3.

They were initially called to reports of a building fire on Mill Street in Leyland.

A Lancashire Fire Service spokesman said: "On arrival firefighters found the incident actually involved a car on a railway bridge on Carr Lane, Farington.

"The fire was extinguished using a hose reel and breathing apparatus.

"The cause is thought to have been deliberate and so a joint investigation is now underway.

"Firefighters were in attendance approximately thirty minutes."
