A HORSE welfare charity has welcomed a new member to its sanctuary – a successful retired racehorse.

HAPPA, one of the oldest equine charities in the UK, is delighted to announce their newest arrival, HAPPA Yeehaa has settled in to his new home well and is much loved by all everyone.

Known as just Yeehaa, a spokesperson for the sanctuary said: “Yeehaa is almost perfect.

“He loves cuddles and is a firm favourite amongst the staff too. He is charming and delightful and is most definitely a winner in HAPPA’s eyes.”

The introduction of Yeehaa to the sanctuary comes as HAPPA announced its partnership with the another charity, the Retraining of Racehorses (RoR).

RoR is British Horseracing’s official charity for the welfare of horses that have retired from racing.

Its aim is to raise funds from within the racing industry for the retraining and rehoming of former racehorses – promoting the adaptability and versatility of racehorses to other equestrian activities.

Staff at HAPPA say that although he’s looking for a slower pace of life, Yeehaa is by no means ready to hang up his shoes yet as he has taken up the post of schoolmaster at the sanctuary.
