A CHORLEY pub could be transformed into six apartments.
The Shepherds Arms on Eaves Lane has been derelict for a number of years and has been earmarked for rent or sale over the past 12 months.
It was set to be discussed at Tuesday night’s Development Control Committee where officials were expected to give it the green light Ghulam Ali Afredi’s scheme for the self-contained apartments.
Cllr Hasina Khan, who represents the Chorley East ward, said: “It may not be a positive for some residents but any derelict building can be an eyesore and may also attract anti-social behaviour.
“Sometimes it can be an open fire hazard which is a risk if left unattended or empty.”
There were letters of objection have been received from the occupiers of four addresses who had concerns about the lack of parking and the impact on highway safety.
