A CAR has crashed into the front of a chip shop.

A police spokesman said a silver Lexus RS 400 hit a chip shop in Runshaw Lane, Euxton at 11.40am.

Eyewitness Brendan Ferguson said he heard a loud bang and saw the car hit the shop.

He said: "There was glass everywhere and the window and door had been knocked through.

"There was a lot of people about as the chippy was about to open for lunch.

"It's not every day you see something like this."

A police spokesman said: "There was damage caused to the front of the car after it hit the chip shop.

"An ambulance was called to check on the driver but we believe no one sustained any serious injuries.

"A second vehicle was also clipped by the car."
